James Wilson Barnes was born September 13, 1872 in Alabama, the son of Berry Lee Barnes (born January 16, 1847 in Fayette County, Alabama) and Nancy Ann Hankins. On September 16, 1901 he married Alice Parmelia Thrasher (born January 2, 1877 in Morgan County, Alabama) in Itawamba County. The Barnes family lived in the Tombigbee Community east of Mantachie before moving west to Texas. James Wilson Barnes died in Dallas County, Texas during 1954.Monday, September 15, 2008
