Whether you call them buttercups or daffodils, this late winter blooming plant marks the spot of many of old homesteads throughout Itawamba County. There's nothing much prettier than coming upon a field of buttercups in rural Itawamba County. William Wordsworth said it well when he wrote:
I wander'd lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host of golden daffodils,
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Bob, Don Dulaney and I were out and about Saturday. We enjoyed seeing all of the daffodils blooming at many of Itawamba's "old home places." Don recalled your recent blog post regarding the same.
